Education Center at Mother Natives
Our Education Center is a small, welcoming space created to support community learning, skill-sharing, and creative exchange. The room comfortably seats 12 people for classes and up to 15 for presentations or film screenings. A projector screen, along with tables and chairs, is provided.
We host a wide range of educational offerings, including gardening, ecology, wellness, art, and other professional-led classes and workshops, with an emphasis on accessibility, hands-on learning, and small group connection.
Who this space is for
This space is designed for local educators, artists, wellness facilitators, gardeners, horticulturalists, and independent professionals who are interested in teaching, sharing skills, and building relationships through small scale, in-person learning. It is especially well suited for instructors who value discussion, collaboration, and community engagement over large or commercialized settings.
Why this space matters
in Sacramento
Access to affordable, appropriately sized workshop space is limited in Sacramento, particularly for small groups and community-based educators. Our Education Center exists to help remove barriers to teaching and learning by offering a reliable, modestly sized space that supports instructors and keeps costs manageable. By prioritizing small classes and fair compensation, we aim to strengthen local knowledge-sharing, creative practice, and community resilience.
Instructor compensation
We operate on a 70/30 revenue split, with 70% of class fees going directly to the instructor and 30% supporting our 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. This structure is intended to prioritize instructor labor while sustaining the space long-term.
